The Case for Change

The Challenges We Share

These are not the failings of any one people or nation. They are shared problems — inherited, structural, and global. Naming them honestly is the first step we take together.

Challenge 01
Problem: Governments are Prioritizing Policies Favoring Political Donors and Specific Monied Interests

Isolating political Out Groups

Governments take action to Lock out emerging voices and invalidate their legitimacy.

Suppressing Labor Representation

Governments suppress worker action and sustainable environmental policies to keep their costs low.

Stifling Innovation

Anticompetitive Political and Economic Policies Disincentivize Innovation and Community Growth, often leading to resentment, collective action in the repressed, and in chronic cases, political violence.

Silence the Governed

Actively suppress their fellow citizens and workers through anti-representative voting practices

Exploiting Instability

Often this political violence potential is leveraged by outside interests that wish to extract resources for themselves without a power or wealth sharing strategy with the host nation that benefits the populous that resides where the resources are.

Challenge 02
Problem: All Nations fall short
Throughout history, nations have struggled with unity due to cultural differences, conflicting interests, and historical grievances. This often leads to blame-shifting rather than cooperation, fueling distrust and hindering global progress.

Power Concentrations

Lack of fully proportional democracy limits representation, favoring some and marginalizing others. This leads to disparities in access, perpetuating inequalities. Inclusive democracy ensures all voices are heard, creating a just society for all.

Oppression

Locked-out groups often face challenges like scapegoating, lack of resources, and abuse. These marginalized communities are disproportionately impacted by systemic inequalities and discrimination, leading to increased isolation and barriers to essential resources. Addressing these issues is crucial for promoting inclusivity and ensuring equal access to support and resources for all.

Democratic Backsliding

These inequalities can undermine society and potentially result in a system breakdown if left unaddressed. It is crucial for societies to acknowledge and tackle these issues to prevent further decline and maintain democracy.

Challenge 03
Problem: Some Multinational Corporations Benefit from Inefficient Unregulatable Global Trading Schemes

Cheap Labor

Some multinational corporations relocate to countries with poor worker protections to cut costs, a practice known as outsourcing. This raises concerns over workers’ rights, job security, and global labor standards. International cooperation and ethical business practices are crucial to uphold fair treatment and labor rights for all.

Tax Evasion

Multinational corporations move money to tax shelters outside international oversight.

Unsafe Products

Multinational corporations operate in countries with minimal consumer protections.

Environmental Damage

Multinational corporations relocate factories to areas with lax environmental regulations.

Challenge 04
Problem: Some Multinational Corporations Benefit from Nationalism & Isolationism

Arms for Profit

The Global Defense Industry is incentivized to maintain a state of perpetual war and its investors lack a transition plan for non-fungible assets.

Challenge 05
Problem: Inherited Generational Conflict is Inhibiting Global Peace and Prosperity

Trade Barriers

Connected Interests Maintain personal exemptions from significant trade restrictions for themselves while imposing them on most other organizations.

States are Competing for Dominance and Control

States compete for dominance, leading to inefficient resource use. Conflicts, shifting alliances, and stalled progress result from the quest for supremacy.

Global Defense Spending: $2.4 Trillion*

*Not including additional costs for border checks and immigration systems.

Quark

Star Trek Deep Space Nine

“’Never Spend More for an Acquisition than you have to’…They have weapons, you have weapons, everyone has weapons; but right now, no one has a clear advantage. So the price of peace is at an all-time low. This is the perfect time to sit down and hammer out an agreement.”

Challenge 06
Problem: The current international system is not designed to cope with ongoing global integration

One Table for Every Nation

The United Nations opened in 1945 with 51 members. As the old empires dissolved over the decades that followed, wave after wave of newly independent nations took a seat — from the rush of African states around 1960 to the post-Soviet arrivals of the 1990s — until the map filled in and nearly every country on Earth belonged. That shared arrival is a quiet achievement: the end of empire left peoples needing somewhere to stand as equals, and the UN became that common table. Yet it was built to keep separate sovereign states from war — not to steer a world already woven together by trade, climate, technology, and migration. The container now holds every nation; it was never designed for how connected they have become.

United Nations membership today — from 51 founding states in 1945 to nearly every nation on Earth.

The Turning Point

The World Is Indivisible

These challenges cross every border. We are, quite literally, in this together — and the way forward is shared.

The world IS Indivisible

Numerous problems transcend national boundaries regardless desire for otherwise. We are quite literally stuck with each other.

Overly Complex

The international system is too complex to maintain in its current form. Something must be done eventually. For so long as there are two or more alliances there will always be a risk of catastrophic war.

Fundementally Essential

The international system is too essential to dismantle. There has been global trade for over 4000 years. It certainly isn’t breaking today.

We must Act Carefully

We must proceed with the utmost care, regardless of our chosen path.

We must Act Together

No matter the scale of the problem, we must face it united. We owe it to each other.

The Path Forward

Global Community Reform

For so long as there is more than one person there will be disagreement. The question of world peace for ourselves and our families will never go away. One Hundred Years, One Million Years, it makes no difference. What are you doing for your part to solve the problem?

Political Institutions Reorganization

Adapts political bodies globally to embrace Principles of Fully Proportional Democracy, ensuring fair representation at all governance levels.

Economic Integration

Assists in aligning economic regulations across markets to facilitate seamless integration into a unified global market.

Defense Standardization

Harmonizes operational standards and external relationships of defensive alliances, paving the way for a multi-national, and ultimately global, Common Defense Guarantee.

Global Parliamentary Pathway

Establishes a process for forming a Global Parliament, open to all nations adhering to the Common Framework, fostering diplomatic relations and inclusive governance.

Diplomatic Unity

Encourages collective foreign relations strategies under The United Democratic Order, aspiring for global unity through diplomatic and peaceful coexistence.

Explore the Reforms

Coalition Focus Areas

Our reforms offer a governance framework that balances elected and appointed roles, advocates for proportional ranked choice voting, and ensures regulatory parity for enterprises. Scaling co-determination enhances board representation. Global community reform aims to reorganize political institutions and foster unity through a Global Parliament.

Proportional Ranked Choice Voting

Guarantees fair representation and diversity, breaks two-party deadlocks, empowers legislators, and promotes cooperation, creating a balanced and efficient political landscape.

Regulatory Parity

Ensures equal treatment for all enterprises, empowers individuals and jurisdictions, and allows the socialization or privatization of enterprises for the common good.

Scaling Co-determination

Guarantees representation for investors and workers, adapts to any organization, and is cost-effective. It enhances board expertise and balances all interests.

Common Governance Framework

A flexible and scalable system that blends elected and appointed roles across jurisdictions. It respects cultural values, minimizes consent violations, and ensures effective governance at any level, from small towns to star systems.

Global Community Reform

Reorganizes political institutions for fair representation, integrates global markets, standardizes defense practices, and fosters unity through a Global Parliament and collective diplomacy.

A More Representative Way: Proportional Ranked Choice Voting (PR-RCV)

No other system comes close to having the final outcome match the voters interests.

Scaling Co-Determination

As the number of workers in an organization increases, the power of corporate policy and industry standards starts to affect more individuals. Just as a government is, in some sense, a business, a business is also, in some sense, a government. Scaling Co-determination, in conjunction with Regulatory Parity, balances the interests of material investors and labor investors.
